Sharp HealthCare Manager Strategic Sourcing/Contracts in San Diego, California

Summary

The Manager Strategic Sourcing/Contracts will enhance the operations of system supply chain by managing strategic sourcing and contracts activity. Employing an experienced manager will support the development of a high-performing team.

This position will be responsible for the following responsibilities:

  • Managing, supervising, and overseeing the operations of Sharp HealthCare’s central strategic sourcing and service/supply contracts

  • Manages the sourcing and competitive process, and strategies including RFP development and distribution, RFP evaluation and selection process

  • Oversee the negotiation and contracting process including the planning and execution of successful negotiations, development and implementation of new vendor partner agreements

  • Manage the key decision processes including analysis of supply spend, value analysis/product sourcing, contract execution, implementation, performance management, and utilization management

  • Participate in Value Analysis Team initiatives to accelerate cost savings realization

  • Obtain the best value and contractual terms and conditions for supplies, equipment, and services. Identify cost savings opportunities, and support the development and implementation of product standardization and best practices

  • Develop measurement systems to continuously audit supply contracts and other services to ensure compliance with contract terms

  • Utilize and exercises effective listening and business judgment skills

  • Must be able to effectively function in high level, fast paced situations involving sensitivity to negotiating strategies and the ability to model and analyze proposals in short timeframes

System Supply Chain Services is a team that is responsible for the overall operation, planning and strategic direction of all system wide supply chain functions, purchased services, projects and priorities.

Sharp System Services have campuses located in the communities of Kearny Mesa and Serra Mesa and consist of the Spectrum location, the Ruffin Road location and Sharp Operations Center (SOC). These offices provide the centralized integrated system support services to the operating entities within the system. These services include: Strategic Planning, Business Development, Information Technology, Compliance, Internal Audit, Legal, Risk Management and Insurance, Contracts, Human Resources, Facilities Management and Development, Clinical Effectiveness, Finance, Nursing, Systems Supply Chain Services, Marketing and Communications, The Sharp Experience and Sharp University.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university is required.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in sourcing/procurement and contracts operations is required.

  • Minimum of three (3) years supervisory or management experience required including setting and managing expectations, goals, and performance of the department staff

  • Strong analytical, financial, written and verbal communication, contractual negotiations, team-building, and organizational skills are essential

  • Knowledgeable in procurement, contracts, terms and conditions, and applicable tax laws

  • Ability to comprehend and develop strategies to accomplish goals and objectives from senior leadership

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher

  • Experience with GPOs and/or corporate contracts is a plus

  • Experience with Lawson ERP system
