Sharp HealthCare Health Services Data Analyst in San Diego, California

Summary

The Health Services Data analyst is responsible for providing complex data extraction, data analysis, data manipulation, report generation, and interface design as needed for various departments within Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical group. The analyst will identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets, and identify problematic areas and conduct research to determine the best course of action to correct the data.

Specific duties include:

  • Generating routine and ad hoc reports according to production schedule

  • Data validation

  • Developing and maintaining databases and data systems necessary for projects and department functions

  • Performing basic statistical analyses for projects and reports

  • Developing graphs, reports and presentations of project results

  • Creating and presenting quality dashboards

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Please include a cover letter that speaks to your professional experience with the following: ad hoc reports, data validation, developing and maintaining databases and data systems, performing statistical analysis and creating/presenting dashboards.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Statistics, Healthcare Informatics, Business Administration or Public Health with an emphasis in statistics or health services

  • Two years of work experience in healthcare data analysis and reporting

  • Knowledge in SQL, MS Access and Excel

  • Must have strong analytical skills to analyze, interpret data, and prepare meaningful reports

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Must have the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

  • Must have excellent customer service skills and commitment to excellence

  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to speak, write, and understand English fluently

  • Must be a team player

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Master’s degree

  • Two years’ experience running and designing complex queries and reports using Access, SQL, Crystal, and Cognos in a healthcare environment

  • Knowledge in Cognos, GE (IDX), SPSS and Crystal reports
