Sharp HealthCare Manager Observation/Short Stay in La Mesa, California
Provide twenty-four (24) hour administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability for the planning, operating, staffing, and coordinating of assigned Nursing department(s) to ensure the delivery of high quality, cost effective patient care. Applies professional management principles of planning, organizing, leading and controlling to specific patient care units/services which effect exemplary practice that supports the mission, values and philosophy of Sharp HealthCare.
Sharp Grossmont Hospital’s Outpatient Observation unit is 43 beds between 2 units: 3-North and 3-South share the patient population of short stay telemetry/medical/ with outpatient orders. The opportunity to work in collaboration with the Emergency Department, provide care that is focused on limited diagnoses and treatment within a short timeframe requires staff that are motivated to learn, able to prioritize care and attend the needs of the patients.

Required Skills and Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing
Current unencumbered California Registered Nurse licensure
Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
Expert knowledge of professional nursing practice, including current trends and issues.
Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing.
Evidence of effective supervision and teaching.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Nursing
2-3 years of recent management experience
3-5 years of recent related clinical experience
