Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$49.377 - $63.712 - $78.048

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

What You Will Do

Under the direction of the Manager/Supervisor/Ops Coordinator is responsible for directing day-to-day activities of the department; supervision of the technical and support staff. To perform a wide variety of technical procedures with quality patient care, assisting Physicians as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Satisfactory completion of formal training program in an AMA approved school and meets the requirements of an appropriate State and/or Federal mandated certification or equivalent.

  • 2 Years Experience in a leadership role

  • Radiologic Technologist Fluoroscopy Permit - CA Department of Public Health -REQUIRED

  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) - CA Department of Public Health -REQUIRED

  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 Years Basic Life Support experience.

  • ARRT Certificate - ARRT -PREFERRED

Essential Functions

  • CommunicationCommunicates pertinent system issues to the manager/PACS Manager/Systems Analyst or vendor on a timely basis.Communicate equipment, employee, supply, adverse incidents, and workman's compensation issues to Supervisor in an appropriate time frame.Communicate openly and positively any changes to all departmental employees.Ensure employee/patient confidentiality is restricted to private area(s) and appropriate person(s).All communication to employees and members of management should be conveyed in a positive and effective manner.

  • Daily operationsMaintains department regulatory requirements.Verify physician order and utilizes RIS correctly to complete all paperwork. 5 Keys to Success #2 & #4.Confirm all exams are complete on a daily basis.Review no show charge slips for accuracy and submit for billing.Evaluate work completed in department matches billed exam. Reschedule patients if necessary to ensure correct billing and educate staff on issues/errors.

  • Department operationsMaintain appropriate levels of supplies.Schedule equipment Preventative Maintenance's.Accurately utilize RIS and Synapse downtime procedures when necessary.Ensure department is following guidelines in compliance with AAAHC.Monitor cassette cleaning and repairs.Demonstrates ability to make timely, accurate and safe decisions regarding patients and staff. Even if those decisions are not covered by written or verbal instructions.Ensure each modality is completing daily QA as required.Ensure staff is applying techniques to improve patient care by rounding with staff, patients and family.Actively sets priorities, adjusting to unscheduled situations.Evaluate work completed in department matches billed exam. Reschedule patients if necessary to ensure correct billing and educate staff on issues/errors.Ensure all exams have been completed in RIS and confirm images are sent to PACS per modality.Complete tasks and assigned duties in a timely manner as directed by Supervisor.Demonstrate timely and proficient add-on exam management.As a working lead you will cover areas on the floor as needed for patient care.Treats customers and co-workers with dignity and respect.Cooperates with initiatives to improve work processes.Keeps abreast of new developments in field, discipline, or functional area.

  • Financial accountabilitySupports organizational cost containment.Takes initiative in utilizing time effectively and appropriately.Evaluates staff on a daily basis to determine appropriate staffing levels and minimize staff under utilization.Ensure appropriate staffing to minimize/meet budgetary requirements.Perform annual departmental inventory as directed by supervisor.

  • Human resource managementDemonstrates commitment and accepts accountability for leadership and human resource managementTimely completion of staff schedules; to include Resource Management (opening and closing of resource scheduling).Accurately completes timecards, submits timecards with in the set time frame.Provides input to manager/supervisor/ops coordinator on hiring and position reclassifications.Provide appropriate coaching, counseling and corrective action with supporting documentation.Ensures completion of performance appraisals and competencies (new hire and annual/ongoing) as assigned.Ensures lunch and break relief is provided to all staff.Supports development of technical/student staff.Acts as a resource to staff and physicians.Assist in maintaining attendance logs.Encourage positive reinforcement, excellent patient customer service, and set an example to increase employee morale.Maintain appropriate documentation to ensure proper tracking of staff and inter-departmental relationships that relate directly to the department of radiology.Perform staff meetings and staff in-services as directed by Supervisor.

  • PACS and SYNAPSEAccurately selects Sharp Healthcare medical record number (Patient) and exam from IIP/Worklist.Properly QC images on IIP.Send images from IIP to synapse.Ensure images crossed over to Synapse for Radiologist review.

  • Patient and family educationProvides pre and post procedure education and reassurance to include but not limited to: What the procedure is, how long it is going to take, physician involved, contrast administration and mode of delivery, positioning, instructions related to procedure, the report, patient satisfaction form.Interacts and communicates in a manner to reflect an understanding of the patient's age, culture, state of health, level of comprehension.Communicates and interacts with the patient's family in a way that is perceived positive and supportive while maintaining patient confidentiality.

  • Quality of careVerifies patient identification and pregnancy status through the use of double identifiers (name and DOB) - 5 Keys to Success #1.Assists Radiologist in procedures while practicing sterile techniques to prevent cross-contamination.Implements, efficient and therapeutic care.Performs proper procedure on proper patient.Demonstrates knowledge of universal precautions and sterile techniques.Uses special needs resources (translation, phone services) to communicate with customers that speak another language or have hearing/speech disorders.Assists in the training of new hire employees and cross training of existing employees.Observes the patient, reports any changes in status, and initiates appropriate action to ensure a positive outcome. Follows patient's Advanced Directive.
